One of the biggest issues I see with creators is that they can't become profitable. I mean, think about it: how many creators do you see that post podcast episodes, YouTube videos, and they're spamming social media nonstop, but they're not making any money from their content? The worst part is that a lot of these people have real talent, they have real insight, they have something unique to offer the world, but the problem is they don't have infrastructure. When you lack that strategy and planning, it messes you up so that your income is impacted from that. To avoid that, I want to break down what In The Making is and what we're building here with the world's first creator accelerator.

Who is Chris?
I've been working in the startup world for the past two years now, but I've been a creator for over a decade. I was recording podcast episodes back in 2015 in the closet at my mom's house. I sounded insane to everybody then, but I knew what the creator economy was going to be even at that point in society. Since I picked up the microphone, I have not put it down. I've worked with hundreds of podcasters, hundreds of content creators, and several brands along the way. I've gotten tons of deals, sponsorships, and partnerships, and I do public speaking. I operate in this creator economy with consistency. I've never not created content. It's always been a huge part of my life, and it probably always will be.

The Creator Accelerator
I wanted to build this accelerator model because I see in the startup world that's exactly what they do with some of the best startups. If you look up Y Combinator, they literally bring in different startups every few months. They have cohorts, and they invest in these founders. These founders might not have the process to hire the team, or they might not know how to run a full company. They may only know how to solve the specific problem that they're good at, which is why they built the company, but outside of that they're completely unaware of how to run an actual business. Y Combinator does that for a lot of these startup founders. They provide them with access to different resources, a ton of mentors, and connections, and getting into Y Combinator is one of the most important things you can do, because as a founder you get access to some of the top investors, not only in Silicon Valley, but it's a signal to the world. I want to create something just like that for the creator economy.

The Dispatch
And it all starts here with this newsletter, The Dispatch. The Dispatch is not your typical creator newsletter. We want to focus on the real meat and potatoes, the real strategies and actionable tactics that can help you become a better and profitable content creator.
I know there are a ton of people teaching you how to build personal brands, how to start YouTube channels and automate everything, or how to launch podcasts. Those will always exist. I want to take it to another level with this space and actually invest in you as a creator. Part of this means the training and all the insight in the strategies, but behind that we're even bringing in a lot of the experts. These are the people who write the checks to pay content creators, the ones who choose which influencers get the brand deals. The real decision makers in the creator economy.
I've worked with a lot of these people over the years, and having access to them is just groundbreaking, honestly, and it's changed my perspective on a lot over the years. I don't want this to be just about me and what I know, so this is not something that's built around Chris and what he's done. I'm bringing in a lot of these experts because some of them know things that I'm just not as good at. Any question you ask about podcasting, I probably have an answer. Whereas with YouTube, I'm like 40 to 50% of the way to knowing everything, so I got some work to do.
Getting Started
We're building this Creator Accelerator to not only invest in creators with strategies and tactics but also profitability. Something that is just revolutionary, that will be game changing, is when creators come through our accelerator and go through our process, they actually come out with brand deal connections. Because, again, having these connections throughout the startup world and through my experiences, I mean, active in the creator economy. I know how hard it is to break through and get that brand deal, but once you get the first one, it's like the door's open. I want to help a lot more creators get to that space. That's one of the things we can promise: you as a creator will get access to brand deals. We give you access to the right people who are writing the checks and sending out contracts.
